The Glass is neither half-full nor half-empty

Think like a man of action and act like a man of thought. Henri Bergson[1]

You are bound to be swinging between optimism and pessimism with the changing fortunes of life. Instead of viewing the glass as half-full or half-empty, ask yourself, “Who owns the glass?” Whoever owns it, fills it and empties it as they wish.

You can own the glass called life and live more, filling it and emptying it whenever you please. To be truly powerful in life, confront the most brutal facts about your circumstances with the absolute faith that in the end, you will prevail. You will be victorious. Nothing in this life lasts forever, no situation remains the same; change is the only constant.

Therefore, you can decide to fill the glass or empty it. Why should you spend your time questioning whether you are living a half-full or half-empty life? Why not grab the glass, take a swig of faith and live to the fullest?

Decide to Own the glass Today

1. Write down your regrets on a piece of paper.

2. Take that piece of paper, tear it up and throw it away because you cannot change your past.

3. Take another piece of paper and write, “If I had time I would…” and list the things you would do.

4. Then write “If I have breath in my lungs on this day (put a date) _______________ in the future I will have realized the following_____________________”
